Colombo International School was founded in 1982, in response to the growing demand for co-educational, English-medium, high quality education within Colombo. From the start, CIS has been located in Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7 (formally known as Cinnamon Gardens), which is generally regarded as one of the most desirable, safe, attractive and quiet residential locations in the city. In 1998 the School opened CIS Kandy.
