St Clare’s College started as a missinary school in 1899 but now it has changed the appearance into a government school with 104 teachers in both Tamil and Sinhala media under one Administrative principal.



It is to stated proudly that now it has expanded into two sections as for Primary and Secondary with nearly 2000 children studying here with peace and harmony. This has become a gift to the multi-cultural community around Wellawatta area which has facilitated with a very good educational background.
